Data Vehicle Check to your Mobile Phone

2pass has teamed up with TEXTCHECK to introduce a new service which gives vehicle buyers instant car/motor-bike check access to authentic DVLA and POLICE information, as well as serious damage and written-off data from British Insurers for as little as £3.

With TEXTCHECK, the UK's first vehicle history text check service, you can now check your vehicle status when buying a used car or motor-bike in a hassle-free, low-cost way. More
Test times are changing at the DSA

DSA logo In order to help candidates booking test times, the DSA now offer a range of test times throughout an extended working day, adding greater flexibility to those candidates with commitments, improving the impact of driving tests on local roads, and spreading them more evenly throughout the day. This new development will also increase the potential throughput of tests and help keep the waiting times down.
Examiners are now conducting tests from 08:00 and during lunchtimes (12:00hrs to 13:00hrs).
Although not every test centre has introduced these, there are many who have.
There are different ways to book the Practical test More

Young drivers face insurance woe
Many young people could find it impossible to afford motor insurance in future unless accident rates are cut, Co-operative Insurance (CIS) has said. On average, each day there are 35 road deaths and serious injuries among people aged 15-25.
And the cost of insuring young drivers has increased by 22% over the past three years, compared with just 2% for all other motorists.
Premiums for young drivers could soon become unaffordable, CIS warned.

Instructor caught on mobile phone
A professional driving instructor was one of those caught using a hand-held mobile phone since the new legislation came into force last month. The man was caught in Falkirk while he was teaching a student.

Under the new law, people supervising a learner driver can also be fined and given penalty points if caught using a mobile phone.

Ch Insp Donald McMillan, of Central Scotland Police, said: "To use a mobile while teaching is irresponsible"

As a result of the new legislation, which came into force on 27 February, offenders now receive a £60 fine and three penalty points instead of the previous £30 fine. More
