Driving Tip of the Month

How to deal with a right turn onto a Dual Carriageway

When crossing or turning right onto a Dual carriageway, first assess whether the central reservation is deep enough to protect the full length of your vehicle.
If it is, then you should treat each half of the carriageway as a separate road. Wait in the central reservation until there is a safe gap in the traffic on the second half of the road.
If the central reservation is too shallow for the length of your vehicle, wait until you can cross both carriageways in one go.

Our NEW video shows how to do a right turn onto a Dual Carriageway More (best with a broadband connection)

Watch out there's a kid about!

Brake is empowering local people to take action to improve road safety in their own communities through its Zak the Zebra hotline. By calling Zak the Zebra on 08000 68 77 80 (open 8am-8pm Mon-Fri and 9am-4pm Sat) anyone can report roads in their area that are plagued with dangerous drivers. All callers are sent a Zak e-pack with information and resources to help them run local road safety campaigns.

In the UK in 2005, 2,197 children on foot and 537 on bikes were killed or seriously injured under the age of 16. That’s an appalling 53 children a week and seven children each day. Road deaths are a tragic waste of young life.

The 100 Newsletter issue

100 The 2pass newsletter started going out way back in January 1999 - a full Eight years ago.
As editor I wish to thank all of the contributers, visitors and subscribers, without whom there would be no newsletter. Thanks to those that emailed with kind words to congratulate on the 100th issue. They all mean a great deal and help to keep the operation going!. We have thought long and hard about stopping after this issue. However, because of all your support, we have decided to keep going.
Thanks again for all your support....Ray@2pass

Testing times for driving examiners

ADI CORNER

Links to DSA Website

A large number of ADIs have websites that link to DSA’s on-line booking system for both theory and practical tests to enable their candidates to book on-line.
In many cases, this is www.dsa.gov.uk

DSA request that you change your links to www.direct.gov.uk/drivingtest

This will ensure that your candidates find the correct web pages much more quickly, where in addition to booking their test, they can manage their existing booking by changing or cancelling their appointment.
