Petrol pump price could pass £1 this month
UK drivers could have to pay almost £5 more when they fill up. Petrol prices could surge to near record highs from this month after the government's 2p rise in fuel duty is introduced from midnight on 1st October. The 2p increase could push up the average price of unleaded petrol to about 98p, while diesel could exceed £1 if the cost is passed on to motorists including increases in the price for a driving lesson. More Government to encourage 'eco-driving' Accelerating smoothly and turning off your car's air conditioning could help to save the environment, according to a government report published last month. One of the commission’s proposals is for drivers to have state-sponsored lessons in “eco-driving”, suggesting that practices such as accelerating evenly, not braking sharply and not over using air conditioning should be incorporated into the driving test. FREE 'GREEN' CAR CHECKS FOR FOXY LADIES Motorists say driving test is too easy More than half of motorists think the driving test is too easy, and as many as 89 per cent of those who have passed the test in the last two years would like to see candidates given a tougher examination, a survey from insurance company Direct Line found. Also, 75 per cent of driving instructors have serious concerns about the test. More |

Or should we say, Examiners are being less than precice at roundabouts with their directions. If you are finding that this is the case in your area, please let us know. |
