Driving Tip of the Month

Driving in a Queue of Traffic

Anticipate what might happen by making early use of the available information on the road.
Ask yourself

  • What are the other road users trying to do?
  • Should I speed up or slow down?
  • Do I need to stop?

It's easy in light traffic to anticipate what other drivers might do. It is more difficult on busy roads where the options are greater.
Remember:- Try and anticipate the actions of other road users.

Is the Driving Age set to Rise
The minimum legal driving age is expected to rise to 18 as part of reforms to cut the number of deaths caused on Britain’s roads by novice drivers.
Ministers are to propose a 12-month training period for new drivers, in effect preventing 17-year-olds from holding a full licence.
There are no plans to introduce an upper age limit, so learners will still be able to learn to drive at 17 but will have to be 18 to take the practical test.
A consultation paper is expected to be published this autumn. More
